iPad Air:
As I look at this device for the first time from behind, it looks almost exactly like the 2017 version of iPad Pro. Additionally, the body’s shape factor and thickness is likewise the same. This device also comes with the Lightning port and touch ID sensor. And there’s also a headphone jack which we don’t get to see on Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e.
Galaxy Tab S5e:
It felt incredibly lightweight, when I held the device in my hands. The bezels are very slim and do not have a home button. This device looks somewhat identical to iPad Pro and there are also square edges that give this device a modern look. This tablet has the body of aluminum and the level of build is also up to the standards we would expect from a tablet of premium grade. This device weighs 400 grams and is 5.5 mm thin which also means it’s thinner than iPad Air.

iPad Air:
This is a 10.5″ panel and this screen has a resolution of 2224 x 1668. This device also features a retina display and has a bit of bezel around the display. This device has a PPI count of 265. The amount of blackness on this screen is not too bad.
The other important thing that make’s this a really nice screen is that the display is laminated and it also has P3 wide color gamut. It also supports the true tone display which changes the lightning of the screen based on the lightning around.
Galaxy Tab S5e:
Galaxy Tab S5e has got an awesome display which expected from Samsung. This device has Super AMOLED display and has the 2560 x 1600 resolution. This device has a PPI count of 288. All on this screen looks very clean, transparent and beautiful because of the higher PPI count on.
This device got 16:10 aspect ratio. Despite of very slim bezels it looks stunning when watching videos. Because this system has the OLED technology, the black levels will be slightly darker and that will make a huge difference when we watch at night.

iPad Air:
This device has only two bottom firing speakers that are kind of old design and even the sound quality isn’t as good because the two speakers are bottom firing and the sound goes sideways and doesn’t give a pleasant sound experience. However if you watch videos on YouTube or listen to music in a house then these speakers aren’t that bad.
It’s got the memory 64 GB and RAM 3 GB which is enough for me. Now, the processor in it is more powerful than the Macbook Air, and more powerful than Macbook Pro too. In short this iPad powerful enough to handle anything like playing high end game like PUBG. I was able to play this game at full graphics without noticing any major lags or stuttering.
Galaxy Tab S5e:
This device has quad speakers, and it sounds very crisp and loud. There’s also a USB Type-C on this device, but it’s disappointing the 3.5 mm jack from this device is gone. We also get slot for SD cards and that allows to extend the memory to 512 GB.
So, if we’re talking about the results I’m not either super impressed or disappointed, what I want to suggest is that it works perfectly well. I found some stutters but no big lags were visible. It doesn’t feel super smooth but to use it is easy enough.
Gaming-wise, it’s good for some medium graphics games but not good enough for high graphic games. So if you are looking for some high end performance tablet then this is not the one but it is good enough for decent day to day performance.

Battery Capacity | 8134 mAh | 7040 mAh |
Type | Li – Ion, Not user replaceable | Li – Ion, Not user replaceable |
iPad Air:
The back camera on this device is a lower resolution camera and it’s also weak as well. This device has got the 8 MP camera. The camera’s performance isn’t as good as any modern day smartphone camera but it’s pretty good to take decent shot’s in good lightning condition’s.
However, the front camera is 7 MP shooter and it is as nice as a camera on any modern day flagships in the iPhone and the iPad Pro 2018 version. And it’s perfect camera to do face time.
This device has got 8134 mAh battery and the charger that we get out of the box gives an output of 12-watt. It gives 10 hours battery life which is enough to get you through out the day and for me it is sufficient to last atleast 3 days without charging as I am not an heavy user.
Galaxy Tab S5e:
On the back of this device we have 13 MP camera and it also supports 4K 30 fps videos as well. The images quality on this device is better than the one’s on iPad Air and the details of the images are pretty good as well when compared to iPad Air. Overall this is better camera than iPad Air but not the best.
This device has got 7040 mAh battery and the charger that comes out of the box gives an output of 15-watt. It gives 13 hours of battery life in a single charge which would last you the whole day.
WHICH ONE YOU SHOULD BUY?
If I need to buy one of these tablet, I would definitely choose Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e as it better in terms of performance but there is not too much difference in both of them. The other reason to buy this tablet is that the display is truly amazing when compared to iPad Air’s display. It’s also better in terms of battery life and audio experience as well.
